Here’s how to keep your spaces clean and hygienic

Spring – a marvellous time of the year (unless you suffer from allergies!). The sun pops out, the days are starting to get a bit warmer, and all of us are hoping for some freedom to enjoy it!

It’s also the perfect time of year to start thinking about spring cleaning your office, commercial premises or school. Hopefully, things will ease up soon, and you’ll be able to call in expert cleaners to help you!

In the meantime, if you’re maintaining your own office space, here are some tips on what you should consider cleaning during the springtime.

COMMERCIAL AND OFFICE SPRING CLEANING IDEAS

Although many offices are shut, some remain open and are operating with minimal staff. Even closed offices should still be maintaining a certain level of cleaning to make your reopening a lot easier.

Here’s a minimal amount of cleaning you should be doing regularly:

  • Dust will build up, so a fortnightly dust and vacuum should be done
  • Surfaces should be thoroughly wiped down and disinfected

An empty office or minimal staff is also a brilliant time to look at things like:

  • Cleaning air conditioning and heating ducts
  • Window cleaning (inside and out)
  • Carpet steam cleaning and freshening up

When you get the go-ahead to open up again, you’ll want to make sure the office is as fresh as a daisy! Sparkling windows, dust-free desks, clean and fresh smelling carpets, spotless bathrooms, an inviting sanitary kitchen and so on.

Although some outdoor services are permitted now, it’s expected that we’ll be able to offer our full services for Christmas and over summer, so it’s strongly encouraged to book your professional cleaners in now!

SCHOOL AND MEDICAL CENTRE CLEANING DURING COVID-19

Although schools are currently shut for most students, childcare and medical centres are still operating. We’ve all seen how quickly this outbreak is moving, with cases being seen in clinics’ waiting rooms.

That’s why you must be keeping up with your cleaning. And yes, a professional cleaning company can help you if you’re considered essential.

You should be maintaining regular cleaning:

  • Disinfecting all surfaces, desks, benches, phones, chairs
  • Dusting and vacuuming
  • Wiping down walls, light switches and door handles (things people touch that could spread disease)

But it’s also a great time to consider going above and beyond and adding in some extras:

  • Window cleaning
  • Carpet steam cleaning
  • Air conditioning or heating ducts

With this strain also affecting children, parents (although many are super keen for their kids to go back to school!) will want assurances that you’ve done everything possible to keep their classrooms sanitary to reduce the risk of the disease spreading.
